The AMI Model F is a popular jukebox that was produced by Automatic Musical Instruments (AMI) in 1954. IT features a boxy design with a well lit record playing compartment. Known for its reliability.
The F was offered in three models, it still retains the F-40 playing 20 78 rpm records, but arguably the last year of this mechanism. The F-80 plays 80 selections and F-120 plays 120 selections supporting 60 records.
The F-40 shipped playing 78 rpm records but a popular modification is to convert to 45 rpm records. A 45 adapted machine is easily identifiable by the blue adapter rings and larger turntable capstan on the turntable platter.
The model F touts Multi Horn High Fidelity sound. with a horn mounted above the selection panel grill and a midrange below the base producing sound out of the bottom. Many feel this is a great sounding jukebox.
This model was also offered in many vibrant color combinations.
The AMI F-120 and F-80 continue to be popular jukeboxes to restore and can be found pretty easily.
