The AMI Model K is a classic jukebox that was produced by Automated Musical Instrument Company (AMI) in 1960. It has a sleek and stylish design and is the last year to feature the wrap around glass dome. Available with either Electric or manual selection and with either 100 or 200 selections. Also available in stereo or mono, having the stereo being the new amp design. Stereo still required external speakers for the full effect.
Manual select has a wheel to turn to choose the selection and a button to press to make it, this model does not support remote wallboxes. Electric select has a multi key keyboard and does support wallbox operation without the need for a stepper.
AMI Model K100 featured 100 selections and held 50 records while K200 had 200 selections and held 100 records.
Designed to be used in public places, the Model K features a coin mechanism that can be adjusted accepts nickels, dimes, or quarters, allowing users to purchase their song selection. Overall, the AMI Model K jukebox is a highly popular model due to its stylish design. This model remains highly collectible to this day.
