The Wurlitzer 2000 jukebox was produced by the Wurlitzer Company in 1956. It was one of two named the Centennial celebrating 100 years of wurlitzer. Alongside the 1900 of the same year remain a very collectible jukebox. This is the first year of the Carousel mechanism that supports 200 selection of 45 rpm records holding 100 records.
The Wurlitzer 2000 incorporates decorative lighting elements such as back lit glass pilasters and a elegant metal grill. It also features a turning page unit for displaying the extra title strips. Apparently operators found users did not understand the page turning and never selected covered songs. These units were removed and an optional fix title holder placed in. These were larger and blocked the aesthetics of the mechanism. We sell complete page units for those missing most if not all parts.
Designed to be used in public places, the Wurlitzer 2000 jukebox features a coin mechanism that accepts nickels, dimes or quarters, allowing users to pay for their song selection. It has a push-button song selection system. Users press the corresponding button on the front panel to choose their desired song.
The Wurlitzer 2000 jukebox is one of wurlitzers most popular jukeboxes in the 50’s, highly coveted in collections.
