Spring and Rivet for the dial assembly on Rock Ola Dial-A-Tune Dials Series C and D. We include one “short” 1/8th rivet for install. This spring allows the gear to spin one direction and engage the other turning the fan and allowing a slow return of the dial. if the fan is not engaging this spring is broke.
Please see the following notes below for best install. Once installed you may be able to move it backwards, this will work itself in and go away.
Clean up the hub both sides real well, when done wipe off any oil off hub and spring. Use a very small amount of oil between the hub and gear but not on the spring to hub. the washer goes between the spring and the gear, it is to space the spring up. When riveting have everything installed, if you don’t have a squeezer press place the head of the rivet on a solid surface like a vice anvil or thick piece of steel, peen the tubular end over to achieve a tight squeeze. Please see assembled picture for how it should look when done.
