Victory Glass is proud to offer an easy solution to the long standing cartridge balance issue with our new Seeburg Tone Arm Counterweight. This is a problem that has existed since the introduction of the lighter-weight Pickering 345 cartridge in the early 1990’s, however the only solutions offered were to either remove the tone arm cradle and remove weight from the underside (a rather in-depth process), or find an unsightly way to add weight to the cartridge. Instead, we’ve decided to solve this issue the same way Seeburg did on later machines, with a counterbalance on the top side of the tone arm.

This counterweight is applicable to Seeburg models B through 201 equipped with Pickering 345, Victory Glass 350, or Pickering 340 (with adapter block) cartridges. It is not required for the 352 cartridge on newer models.

To install, simply mark the location of the trip adjustment with a marker, loosen the trip switch adjustment screw, and slip the counterweight bracket under the screw. Play a selection with no record in the slot, and adjust the angle of the weight to where the tone arm does not move on its own, no matter where you let go of it. Check to make sure your trip adjustment is where it was before and tighten the screw.

Special thanks to Ed Urguitis (former Seeburg employee) for the assistance with developing this product!
