The AMI Model I jukebox is a classic jukebox that was produced by Automated Musical Instrument Company (AMI) in 1958. IT features patterned side panels, curved wrap around glass dome and top lit with color diffuser grill. It was offered with manual or electric select and in three models. It was also offered in mono or stereo but stereo required external speakers
Model I-100 supported 50 records for 100 selections, Model I-120 held 60 records for 120 selections, and Model I-200 had 200 selections holding 100 records.
Manual select has a wheel to turn to choose the selection and a button to press to make it, this model does not support remote wallboxes. Electric select has a multi key keyboard and does support wallbox operation without the need for a stepper.
Overall, the AMI Model I jukebox is a highly popular and successful jukebox due to its attractive design, user-friendly operation and ability to play a wide selection of records. Today it is highly sought after by collectors and jukebox enthusiasts.
