Seeburg Library Units and HSC

The Seeburg Library Units and Home Stereo Consoles were produced by Seeburg Corporation from 1948 to 1968, with most  of the production taking place in the 1950s.  The units had different designs and aesthetics based on the era they were produced. Many feature stylish cabinet designs, decorative elements and furniture aesthetics. The Seeburg Library Units and HSC have a large capacity for holding records, depending on the specific model. These were intended as background players or home consoles to hold full sized LP’s.

The Seeburg library units were available in a few different configurations. Either just the mechanism in a bare cabinet with just a pre amplifier or as a full console with an amplifier and speakers. There were also 10 inch 78 rpm library units and consoles.

The HSC1,HSC2, and AP1A,AP12 all held 50 12 inch LP albums and played both sides. These were designed for homes to play albums to your liking with an actual rotary telephone selector, the later ones had a keypad. Some of these were just players with pre amplifiers and other were full consoles with speakers and an amp.

Other models of background music players were also made, the BMS100 played a special record that was supplied by seeburg in sets as a subscription. We have some of these record sets available in the store.
