The Wurlitzer 1080, 1080A and 1080C jukeboxes were produced by the Wurlitzer Company in 1947 and 1948. They features a stylish design with a wood veneer cabinet, chrome accents, and decorative elements. They can hold and play up to 24 78-rpm records, providing a selection of 24 songs.
The Wurlitzer 1080, 1080A and 1080C have a more scaled down lighting look compared to the 1015. The 1080 were advertised for a more upscale establishment as opposed to the bright 1015. Model 1080A featured the new Cobra tonearm, amp and cartridge. The 1080C also featured the Cobra system but also had a different grill and plastic garnishment.
Designed to be used in public places, the Wurlitzer 1080, 1080A and 1080C jukeboxes feature a coin mechanism that accepts nickels or dimes, allowing users to pay for their song selection. They use a manual song selection mechanism.
